Discovering the aeronde: another way&nbspof&nbspflying&nbsp!

Why aerOnde

aerOnde is a motorized aircraft 100% electric, helium-powered, vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL), to fly in complete safety with up to 2 people on board and charge, silently, with very little energy, for several hours.

4H autonomy

Speed 20 km/h

Payload 200kg

15m diameter

3 steerable thrusters

0 to 2500m ascent

A counter-current solution&nbsp!

Aéronde, a sustainable and economical aerial solution

The aim of aerOnde is to offer an alternative aerial solution to make missions at height with great stability. Its performance is not a question of speed, but of its ability to offer a sustainable, cost-effective solution for working at height.

Technical

aerOnde is a 100% electric-powered aircrafthelium-powered vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL), enabling flying safely with up to 2 people on board and load, silently, with very little energy, for several hours.

The aerOnde can be used in a wide range of applications and missions These include: tourism and leisure; inspection & intervention (inspection of linear structures, railroads, electrical cable laying, roof treatment, etc.); agriculture (surveillance and operations); communication and events (telecom relays, etc.); security (mine detection, natural disaster intervention, etc.). And many more yet to be invented...

With a payload of 200 kg, economical travel speeds of the aircraft are around 20 km/h in 3 directions (ForwardRearward), (UpDownward), (LeftRightward). Under these conditions, autonomy of around 4 hours.

Visit 3 steerable thrusters in all directions each have 4 electric motors. Each motor is powered by a INR Lithium Ion battery pack with a total capacity of 8 kWh. With a consumption of 1.2 kWh per hour under standard conditions of use, the Aeronde has an autonomy of over 4 h, while maintaining a high level of safety. a safety reserve.

The envelope is made of special helium-tight fabric and tear-resistant. The various fabrics are assembled by sewing, welding and/or gluing.

The toroidal shape has 4 advantages: it avoids the wind vane effect encountered by airships, allows the hangar to be retracted and exited regardless of wind direction, facilitates the manufacture of the envelope, and enables the aerostat to be housed in lower hangars. What's more, the toroidal shape is very elegant!

The dimensions of the aérOnde have been chosen to fit into Class 5 category under ULM regulations French standard, allowing 2 people to be carried on board in complete safety. The outer diameter of the envelope is 15 m and its height is 4.6 m.

The aircraft can lift up to 200 Kg at equilibrium and 400 Kg with the help of 12 thrusters. Each m3 of Helium lifts 1 kg of load.

AerOnde is already very easy to control in all 3 dimensions; pilot assistance makes the aircraft perfectly stable and accompanies/controls movements. A autopilot mode will hold the fixed point without pilot intervention, even in windy conditions.

Visit INR Lithium Ion batteries (lithium manganese nickel) allow us to simultaneously take into account safety requirements in our conditions of use, mass energy needs and available power.

This wireless option (fly by radio) drastically reduces the hassle of wiring (connection time, possible errors during installation, fires, etc.), lightens the aircraft and makes it easier to install. simplify maintenance. All communications are protected by the latest encryption technology to guarantee robust control.

Currently 6 persons full-time employees are working on the project. Over 400 INP-Ense3 students have also taken part in the project in previous years.

Environment

AerOnde is characterized by very low energy consumptionIt doesn't emit harmful exhaust fumes, flights are very quiet and there's very little puffing, unlike the heavy air movement of helicopters.

aerOnde is a alternative to helicopters if you want low environmental impact, silence, very low power consumption, very long mission duration and excellent fixed-point control.

For an hour's flight, with a total consumption of around 1.2 kWh, the energy cost is less than €1, whereas a helicopter used for aerial work consumes around 200 liters of kerosene.

The aircraft are designed and assembled on theGrenoble le Versoud aerodrome. They will also be tested on this platform.

Simply becauseaérOnde is an all-round aerostat !

Security

Contrary to popular belief, an aerostat is naturally secure. Even riddled with holes, the envelope allows you to fly for a very long time, as the internal gas pressure is only around 4 millibars, so it escapes extremely slowly. In most cases, the aircraft flies with a balance weight of a few kilos, bringing it gently to the ground in the event of complete engine failure (hot-air balloon-type flight). We have demonstrated that with only one of the 3 engines operational, the aeronaventure can still be flown.

AerOnde can be used in weather conditions authorizing the flight in general aviation. It can fly in rain and poor visibility, as well as in 40 km/h wind gusts.

Air entering class 5 microlight category (ultra-light aerostat), the pilot must hold the corresponding pilot's license. Additional training will be provided by the aérOnde company.

Regulations

The first aérOnde is currently undergoing certification under Class 5 of French microlight regulations. Class 5 concerns aerostats meeting the following criteria: maximum volume of the aerostat 900 m3, power limited to 75kW for a single-seater or 90 kW for a two-seater. More details on class 5 here.

The innovative design of the aérOnde is protected by patent.
